Wow, your colors are fantastic, and altogether this is a really nice piece. The boy's hand is getting lost against the pink/yellow thing behind it, making the area behind the hand darker would pop it out.

Now, your composition is very awkward. There's lotslotslots on the left side, and very little on the right side. it looks like it's divided straight down the middle. You might want to work on integrating the two halves better, especially color-wise. That bright blue in the top right is completely out of sync with your palette on the rest of the artwork and the viewer's eye goes straight to it. Even more so than the boy, which is your focus, correct?

Is the boy falling? The shirt and the way he's leaning forward indicates so, but his hair doesn't. His expression could be more surprised, or scared, or something. Right now it looks like he's sighing almost. Also, the purple shape by his leg behind him looks like the other leg but you've indicated it's not because it's a different color than his pants. This is because the blue and the purple are the same value. You might want to lighten it. Also, where's the kid's other arm? If he's falling, both arms would be out to catch him falling.

Those are the objective issues that I find with this piece.

Personally, I don't like that the giraffe is the only thing looking directly at the viewer. Because of that, it's taking over the entire piece. This piece isn't about the giraffe, but why is he the main focus? My eye goes straight for the giraffe and stays there. Should he be looking at the boy? or in the same direction as everything else? He's so opaque compared to all the other little entities. His body is very weird also, I would recommend looking for more references for giraffe's bodies.

When I'm looking at this, it seems like the right side is arbitrary to the piece. They're on the same plane as the other characters to the left, yet they are not interacting with them, or the boy. Should they be farther from the viewer? The little blue guy off the page on the right looks like he's closer to the viewer than anything else. Then he should be much bigger. And the purple guy smaller, and grayer. Are the green things swirling around the boy? Then the one at the bottom should look closer to the viewer and the one in the middle should look farther. Make the one in the front overlap the boy. No, it won't make the focus on the green thing, but it will make the composition more interesting. There should be more dimension in this piece if you want to pull it off well. Pay attention to your atmospheric perspective. But that's my personal opinion. I think limiting your color palette or making the range even bigger would add to the surrealness of the environment you've put your character in. And moving him from the center of the page (which is a general compositional no-no) to more of the top right would balance out your composition.

Well, yes. ^_^ I hope that helps you.
